Can LTspice use a CAD model?

LTspice cannot use the footprint - has no PCB layout. LTspice might conceivably be able to use the symbol, but I don't know of any way to import just the drawing. LTspice needs the spice model, and a mapping between the pins and the model innards. The CAD models won't provide the spice model, so they aren't of much use in LTspice.

What is a SPICE simulator?

The term stands for simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis. It refers to computer programs used to simulate the behavioral properties of a circuit, particularly for analog designs. The SPICE simulator was first created during the growth of integrated circuits (IC) in electronics design.

How does a SPICE model work?

Your SPICE models are then used to build and solve a standard circuit model with a numerical technique. Once your simulation finishes, you’ll receive a set of graphs showing electrical behavior vs. changes in input signal level (DC sweep or small-signal analysis), frequency, or time.

Do you need a SPICE simulator for Electronics PCB design?

If you’re new to SPICE simulations and you’ve never used a simulator as an electronics PCB designer, then don’t fret. You don’t need to be an expert on electrical simulations, but knowing how to use a SPICE simulator and how to interpret the results helps you design accurately for many applications.
